For Martin Rauch, rammed earth is not just a building material, but a highly sensitive means of expression. His artistic exploration results in unique objects, sculptures and space-creating elements that reveal the essence of the material in an unmistakable way. Each custom-made piece is the result of an intensive dialog between craftsmanship, material and space.
Martin Rauch has been supporting artists in the realization of their ideas for decades. This has resulted in close collaborations with renowned personalities such as Olafur Eliasson, Simon Starling and Otobong Nkanga.

Collaboration with museums, galleries and other cultural institutions is also a central component of our work. This results in projects that deal with sustainability, materiality and current social issues in a sensual way and make it possible to experience clay as a versatile medium.

We look at each project individually. We examine the context, the scope and the motivation and decide together to what extent Martin Rauch is personally involved as an artist – be it in the conceptual consultation, in the implementation or through the expertise of Lehm Ton Erde. This results in projects in which material, space and artistic vision become a shared experience in a sensual way.
