Atelier AHA
Set back from the road, embedded in lush vegetation and accompanied by the gentle babbling of a stream, the building blends gently into the natural topography. The slight gradient allows the building volume to grow organically out of the terrain.
Influenced by the client’s travel experiences and their openness to other building cultures, the idea of using clay as a connecting material – inspired by centuries-old kasbahs – emerged in dialog with the architect.
In close collaboration with Lehm Ton Erde, a design was developed that is consistently aligned with the materiality. The orientation of the building, generous glazing, the cantilevered canopy – all these elements are part of a resource-saving overall concept that makes use of the natural conditions and protects them at the same time.
