MudWorks Harvard University

MudWorks is an installation and exhibition that demonstrates the potential of building with pure earth. Organized by the Loeb scholarship holders of 2012 and led by Anna Heringer and Martin Rauch, students, teachers and the interested public were involved in the planning and construction of the MudWorks installation.

The accompanying exhibition in Gund Hall presents eleven exemplary clay projects from five continents. MudWorks makes it clear that clay is a central material in the architectural discourse – for the preservation of cultural identity, for the creation of tactile and human-friendly spaces and for the promotion of diverse forms of work.
