Vigilius Mountain Resort
In the hotel rooms of the Vigilius Mountain Resort, a solid rammed earth wall separates the open washing area from the bedroom and living room. It is more than just a functional component – with its handcrafted surface, the interplay of layers and the depth of the material, it shapes the atmosphere of the room and brings calm, warmth and grounding.
The wall is equipped with a wall heating system that is operated at a higher flow temperature. In this way, the rammed earth itself becomes a heat radiator – a principle reminiscent of the even warmth of a tiled stove. In combination with controlled ventilation, this creates a balanced, comfortable indoor climate.
Thanks to the moisture-regulating properties of clay, the wet area could be integrated openly into the room – without a threshold or partition. Lighting recessed into the top of the wall provides soft, indirect light and emphasizes the sculptural effect of the material. To reduce the construction time, the rammed earth walls were produced as prefabricated parts in the workshop, delivered to the building site and assembled there to fit perfectly.
