Plazza Pintgia
The Plazza Pintgia stable, which has been converted into a residential building, is located in the heart of the old village of Almens. The desire for natural materials was met to the highest degree by the use of rammed earth. Structural prefabricated elements made of rammed earth form walls and in some cases extend like sculptures over all three storeys. On the one hand, they divide the barn into rooms, and on the other, they take over the functions of the building services.
The 50 cm thick rammed earth walls provide the building with storage mass, serve as heating and cooling walls and regulate the humidity. The wood-burning stove, also made of rammed earth, with its heated bench gives the house a cozy center. Close collaboration with the architects and consultation during the design process enabled the work to run smoothly and produce an optimum result.
