The kindergarten of the »Teddybear Nursery School« in Orange Farm takes care of children between the ages of 0 to 6 years, some of them being aids orphans. Inadequate protection of climatic circumstances is for users of such young age critical. As a basic building material of the kindergarten rammed earth is used: coming directly from the excavation pit, with excellent potential for an ambient room climate and for everybody available without costs. Together with the under ventilated roof, the rammed earth walls manage to make the thermal balance between day and night and reduce the extreme temperatures in winter and summer.

»A rammed earth house should not be seen as a cheap solution, it much more a large air conditioning. The comfort as an incentive – sustainability as a concept. « – Mag. Art. Martin Rauch
